The Apache AH-64 is a four-bladed, twin-engine attack helicopter with reverse-tricycle landing gear and cockpit in tandem for a crew of two. The Apache was developed by Hughes as a model of 77 helicopters for the U.S. Army Advanced Attack Helicopter program to replace the AH-1 Cobra. The Apache has a four-bladed main installation of the tail rotor and four rotor blades. The crew is in tandem with the pilot sitting behind and above the copilot-gunner in an armored cockpit.
